AI companies need humans to review, rate, and improve AI responses. That's the job. You read prompts, compare answers, and share your honest opinion. No background required.
THE WORK
Most contracts mix these. You pick tasks from a queue and work at your own pace. Here is a sample of what actually shows up.
RATING
You are shown a question and an AI-generated answer. You rate it on clarity, accuracy, and helpfulness. Most tasks take 2 to 5 minutes.
AI response to review
“To make pasta carbonara, cook spaghetti until al dente. Meanwhile, whisk eggs with grated pecorino romano and black pepper. Combine off heat to avoid scrambling.”

COMPARISON
Two AI responses appear side by side. You decide which is more accurate, better written, or more helpful. Optional comment field after.
“Explain what machine learning is in one paragraph, for someone with no technical background.”
Response A
Machine learning is a way computers learn from examples. Instead of following rules, they look at lots of data and figure out patterns on their own.
Response B
ML is a subset of AI involving algorithmic optimization of parameterized models through gradient descent on labeled training corpora.
You selected B. Add a note below if you want.
WRITING
You write questions or scenarios designed to test or challenge an AI. No right answer. They want creative, realistic prompts that expose edge cases.
Write a follow-up question a user might ask after receiving a recipe that could confuse an AI about ingredient temperatures.
Your prompt
CODE
Some contracts focus on technical tasks. You check whether an AI-generated code explanation is accurate, clear, and complete. No need to run the code.

CONVERSATION
You review a multi-turn chat between a user and an AI. You flag where the AI lost track, gave bad advice, or went off topic. Common on Mercor and Outlier contracts.

TIMELINE
Honest expectations. Every platform moves at a slightly different pace.
You apply and verify your identity. Most platforms use a quick ID check. Takes about 10 minutes.
You complete a short onboarding assessment. It is not graded like a test. They are looking at how you think.
You wait for an invite to the task queue. This is the slowest part. Some people hear back in 2 days, some in a week.
Your first real tasks appear. Start slow. Read the guidelines carefully. Quality matters more than speed early on.
You find your rhythm. Most contractors work 5 to 15 hours a week alongside other things.
First payment processes. Timing depends on the platform but most pay within 2 to 3 weeks of your first completed batch.
FAQ
Do I need AI experience?
No. These companies are looking for your human judgment, not technical knowledge. If you can read carefully and express an opinion clearly, you qualify.
How many hours do I need to commit?
There is no minimum. Most people treat it as a flexible side gig. You log in when you want and pick up tasks from the queue.
What if I give a wrong answer?
There are no wrong answers in the traditional sense. You are sharing your perspective. Consistency and clear reasoning matter more than being correct.
When do I get paid?
Most platforms pay every two weeks via Stripe or Wise. Expect your first payment 2 to 3 weeks after completing your first batch of tasks.
Do I need to be in the US?
Most contracts are open internationally. A few are US-only or require Five Eyes citizenship. Each contract page on Clasp lists eligibility.
Is this a real job?
It is 1099 contractor work, not employment. You set your own hours and are responsible for your own taxes. Clasp has a tax estimator to help with that.
Browse open contracts, upload your resume, and Clasp will match you to the ones that fit. No cold applications. No guessing.
